Alex Cecchetti is a Franco-Italian multidisciplinary artist, active as a poet, choreographer, gardener, and freediver. His art blends spirituality, ecology, and poetry, engaging audiences in immersive and participatory experiences, often outside of museums and in natural environments.
Described by philosopher Emanuele Coccia as the initiator of an “aesthetic and ecological revolution,” Cecchetti views every species as an artist and every environment as a living exhibition space. His works include poetic performances, sensorial walks, and installations inspired by the natural world and multispecies dialogue.
He has exhibited at major international institutions (Centre Pompidou, MAXXI, Palais de Tokyo, Serpentine Galleries) and participated in numerous festivals and residencies. Recent projects include exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou, Ocean Space, Villa Medici, and Frac Franche-Comté. In 2022, he won the Italian Council Award with the work SENTIERO.
His works are part of prestigious public collections in Italy and France.

Alex Cecchetti’s works on paper evoke meditative and underwater visions, perhaps inspired by the artist’s countless freediving experiences. Created through a process involving immersion in water, lemon, and minerals, the surfaces absorb colors and shapes, generating hypnotic, organic images that resemble portraits of an inner ocean, oscillating between calm and turbulence.
